Speakers & speaker CRM

opensesh tracks speakers at two levels: a per-event Speakers directory for running this conference, and an organization-wide Speaker CRM that persists across events.

Event speakers: the Spotlight view

Speakers (/admin/speakers) is a master-detail directory. The table shows Speaker, Role, Profile readiness, Workflow, Task progress; selecting a row opens the Spotlight detail pane. Each speaker moves through a workflow: invitedonboardingconfirmedready (or declined).

Built for working through a long list fast

Navigate with j / k and close with Escape. The URL carries ?spotlight=<id>, so views are shareable.

The Spotlight pane shows:

PanelWhat it shows
Awaiting your reviewPortal edits pending approval, one click from the Content flow.
Workflow statusWhere they are in onboarding.
Profile readinessA checklist of Bio, Headshot, Dietary, T-shirt, and Profile approval.
Contact and logisticsThe practical details.

The toolbar has Export CSV and Import CSV for bulk work.

Organization CRM

Speaker CRM (/admin/crm) is the long-lived contact database for your whole organization, with four tabs:

Columns: Contact, Title, Company, Tags, Events (which of your events they've touched). From here you can:

  • Import CSV — with header mapping, a per-row preview before commit, and dedupe by email so re-imports don't create duplicates.
  • Merge duplicate contacts — pick the surviving record; history and event links consolidate.
  • Start a campaign from the current selection (see Email).

How the two levels connect

Event speakers are linked to CRM contacts. Accept someone's talk at one event and next year they're already in the Directory with their history, tags, and pipeline stage — invite them straight from the CRM instead of starting cold. The Accelevents integration also imports into the CRM, tagging attendees so you can target them as future speakers.
