Submissions & review desk
Submissions (/admin/abstracts) is the triage desk for everything the CFP brings in: filter, review, decide, and notify — all from one table.
The table
Each row shows Status, Code, Title, Tracks, Format, Speakers, Rating, Reviews, Source, Submitted, Notified. The Rating and Reviews columns roll up scores from Evaluation, so you can sort by how reviewers actually scored things.
Submission statuses are: draft, pending, maybe, accepted, declined, withdrawn. Status chips across the top — Pending, Maybe, Accepted, Declined, Withdrawn, Drafts — act as one-click filters, alongside a "Search abstracts…" box and Track / Format / Tag filters bound to the event library.
Making decisions
Open a submission and choose accept or decline. The decision dialog does more than flip a status: it composes a decision email preview addressed to the submitter, with an editable feedback section prefilled from up to three reviewer comments. Edit freely before sending. The confirm buttons are explicit: Accept and send / Decline and send.
Re-deciding asks first
Re-deciding an already-decided submission asks for confirmation first, so you don't accidentally re-notify someone.
Accepting a submission graduates it: a session is created and appears on the Sessions desk, and speaker onboarding tasks are assigned. The Notified column tracks whether the decision email actually went out.
Bulk actions and export
Select multiple rows to Accept, Decline, or Export selection in one go. Bulk decisions show a toast with Undo so a mis-click is recoverable.
Export CSV exports the current filtered view — statuses, library fields, speakers, ratings — for spreadsheets or hand-off to other tools. Decided rows stay in results and exports; deciding never hides data.
Where submissions come from
The Source column distinguishes CFP submissions from ones added by admins directly. Withdrawn submissions keep their history but drop out of the default working set.
A typical week of triage
Work the pending queue
Filter to Pending, sort by Rating once reviews are in.
Triage the borderline talks
Move borderline talks to maybe to keep the pending queue honest.
Decide in batches
Batch-accept the clear yeses; personalize feedback in the decision dialog for the rest.
Confirm the emails landed
Watch Notified to confirm every decision email landed — failures are retryable from the Email delivery page.
